Akron Friends Meeting
Meeting with Attention to Business June 9, 2024
After a period of worshipful silence, the Clerk asked Friends to continue worship by taking up the business of the meeting.
1. There were no minutes because Janet forgot to prepare them. She will send minutes from both the May and current meeting following the week of Yearly Meeting.
2. Treasurer’s Report
Leah sent the check with our donation of $200 to the Akron Interfaith Immigration Advocates. There was no other activity in the account this month. We have a current balance of $1,846.25.
3. Old Business
A. Janet has sent the AFM State of the Meeting Report, and Adele Looney’s Memorial Minute to LEYM.
B. Some Friends would like to have additional in-person meetings. We like the feel of meeting in a physical setting. Friends agreed to hold hybrid meetings on the first and third Sundays of the month at the home of Linda Beaty. Leah Holden will continue to host Zoom meetings every Sunday.
C. Leah has built a website for AFM. She sent an email link to the site and would like Friends to take a look at it and offer suggestions. She would like to post our business meeting minutes and perhaps a calendar.
4. New Business
There was none.
5. There were no announcements.
Friends returned to silence before the rise of meeting.
